Medical Field Insight Classification & Recommendation Pipeline
A pharmaceutical client was collecting thousands of medical field insights a year — observations from the field that were being recorded but never systematically reviewed against strategy. The volume made manual analysis impractical, so the insight sat unused.
I designed and deployed a multi-stage AI pipeline to close that gap:
- An NLP classifier categorizes each field observation against the client's Strategic Medical Plan.
- An LLM generates ranked, citation-backed recommended actions for each strategic objective.
- A differential stage compares the previous cycle's recommendations against the new ones and reports what changed.
Classification accuracy improved through structured training data design, expert annotation standards, and custom stop-word management — translating client feedback directly into measurable gains rather than anecdotal tuning.
Analytics & Automation
Enterprise Automated Reporting, End to End
IT subject matter expert for Power BI and Power Automate, owning the full lifecycle of enterprise automated reporting — from requirements gathering through production publication and daily refresh.
- Built an interactive Power BI Procurement report with role-based cost center access, giving the team secure self-service into its own data.
- Streamlined Drug Safety partner oversight using AWS S3, Power Automate, Alteryx, Informatica and Snowflake.
- Led the Power BI migration from Alteryx to Informatica for Snowflake reporting.
- Engineered automated Veeva Vault API extractions enabling continuous, cost-free data refresh across reporting platforms.
Building the Analytics Function for Global Medical Affairs
Led a four-person, multi-continent operations analytics team delivering KPIs and decision-support data across Global Medical Affairs, with ownership of data architecture, report publishing and platform governance for a global user base.
- Defined and published the critical Medical Affairs KPIs in collaboration with global stakeholders.
- Drove the monthly Executive Management reporting used for strategic direction and risk management.
- Developed MSL performance reports from Veeva data, quantifying field activity for management decision-making.
- Replaced outsourced third-party metrics with in-house reporting.
Centralizing Operational Metrics Across Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain
Core team member of the PO&T Operations Analytics group, consolidating company-wide operational metrics into a single platform spanning manufacturing, quality and supply chain.
- Mapped the end-to-end product release process, improving release date prediction accuracy and identifying the bottlenecks that were extending cycle time.
- Developed Tableau dashboards standardized across multiple global sites, enabling rapid issue identification and self-service exploration.
- Chaired the governance committee overseeing KPI standardization and best practices, establishing cross-site consistency and confidence in the numbers.
Data Platforms, Quality & Governance
Making Regulated R&D Data Usable
Built a data integration program enriching internal and external R&D data sources to enable faster analytics, targeted risk assessment and compliant reporting across GCP, GLP and GVP functions.
- Designed an automated training compliance notification system with escalating multi-tier managerial alerts, significantly improving departmental compliance rates.
- Delivered automated QA compliance reports identifying Veeva documents, CAPAs, Change Controls and Deviations impacted by employee turnover — closing a compliance gap created by the absence of a Workday–Veeva integration.
- Trained staff on Power BI best practices so teams could automate their own reporting locally.
- Redesigned the requirements-to-publication workflow end to end.
Founding the Quality Operations Data Function
Founding member of the Quality Operations function and the corporate point of contact for quality systems data collection, integration and reporting across clinical and commercial manufacturing.
- Conceptualized and built a project tracking system giving unified metrics and visibility across geographically distributed Supply Chain Quality groups.
- Performed managerial release of clinical and commercial Drug Substance, Drug Product and Finished Goods for both large and small molecule products.
